Beacon House 25th Anniversary Celebration in Honor of Rev. Donald Robinson

A fundraising event - The Beacon House 25th Anniversary Celebration of Hope and Legacy of Inspiration in Honor of Reverend Donald E. Robinson - will be held Saturday, June 17, 2017 at the Edgewood Arts Center, 3415 8th Street NE, Washington, DC 20017, 4:00pm-7:00pm. Please join us to celebrate a remarkable man and his legacy of Beacon House.

Reverend Robinson envisioned Beacon House a quarter-century ago to be a safe-haven for children a place where children could come to learn in a safe environment, away from the violence, drugs and despair that plagued the Edgewood community.

Since opening its doors in a basement to a dozen children in 1991, Beacon House has grown into a well-respected and much needed non-profit organization which has served children from every Ward in the District. Our educational and athletics programs are now supported by hundreds of volunteers and operate in nearly 12,000 square feet of space within the Edgewood Commons affordable housing community in Ward 5. Beacon House's educational and athletics programs have laid the foundation for hundreds of children to attend college, many on full scholarships.

Thousands of lives have been touched and saved as a result of Reverend Robinson's vision. The mission and efforts of Beacon House and that of Reverend Robinson cannot be effective unless we have the support of everyone in our community. Please help to sustain Beacon House. Your donation is tax deductible and will work to assist Beacon House's continuing efforts of over 25 years in fulfilling its mission to provide children in the greater Edgewood community with a safe, nurturing, life expanding community in which to increase their academic achievement, discover their talents, and grow into healthy adults who achieve their greatest potential.
